Casual Denim Jeans

Denim is not only our wardrobe must have, it’s our daily savior. When summer dresses, skirts and shorts don’t convince us enough that they are the best things that we own, we turn to our beloved jeans. They are great for any season, any occasion, any event and any social groups. We all have that darling pair of jeans we put on when we have three minutes to run out and our entire selection of clothes is scattered on out beds. What’s been often said and I believe firmly too is that after diamonds, jeans are a girl’s best friend. It is one of those ideal garments that you can wear anytime, anywhere and it lends itself easily to innovation. You may wear loose jeans, a tight one, a skinny one or a cropped one. If I started counting the kind and categories of jeans, that have been in style I might end up skipping my dinner (Its morning here now!). One may pair up the jeans with almost anything. A tank top, halter top, sleeveless top, backless top, big jacket, small jacket, kurti and nowadays even a saree, whatever you got, pair it up with jeans, and you will find what’s like the world’s best combination. If there was any clothing item that has been in trend ever since its invention, which you could call eternal, jeans would be it.

Historically is has been worn as the fabric of hard honest work, and as the expression of angry rebellion; used for the sails of Columbus’ ships and worn by American cowboys. Research on the trade of jean fabric showed that it emerged in the cities of Genoa, Italy, and Nimes, France. Genes, the French word for Genoa, may be the origin of the word “jeans”. In Nimes, weavers tried to reproduce jean but instead developed a similar twill fabric that became known as denim, from de Nimes, meaning “from Nimes”. This denim was coarser, considered higher quality and was used “for over garments such as smocks or overalls”. Nearly all Indigo, needed for dying, came from indigo bush plantations in India till the late 19th century. After which Germany started producing its own indigo. Initially, jeans were simply sturdy trousers worn by factory workers. It was seen as the most comfortable sturdy fabric worn by the miners. Dungarees were also produced having no zippers and having the effect of a different kind of overall. Men’s jeans had the zipper down the front, whereas women’s jeans had the zipper down the left side. World War II slowed down the production and popularity of jeans, but jean overall were still worn by American soldiers off duty. By the 1960s, both men’s and women’s jeans had the zipper down the front. I that period new category of jeans was introduced as waist overall, which was like a bib overall without the bib. Levi Strauss was one the pioneers of the jean fashion. The jean quality as well as the people’s attitude towards jean wearers changed a lot in the following years. It was no coarser, sturdy, or even an overall, it now was worn by almost all the age groups and they liked it. Loose to skin fitted to bell bottoms to skinny jeans; there are so many which with a little moderation keep coming back to the fashion circle. You can get them at any shops, buy them online, at or at online boutiques, have them stitched, as per your wish. Jeans are a new definition of comfort wear, style and vougue and have fans in all spheres of world.
